Anthony "Gene" Eugene Radecki
Aug 8, 1939 — Jul 1, 2026
Edina, MN - Anthony "Gene" Radecki passed away on July 1, 2026, leaving a legacy cherished by everyone who knew him. Gene was born in Saint Paul, MN on August 8, 1939. He attended Saint Thomas Academy and graduated from the University of Saint Thomas.
Gene was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Family was central to his life, and he delighted in being with them—whether playing cards, boating, travelling, or simply spending time together.
Gene loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping with family, fishing and hunting with friends and hanging out at the lake. He and his beloved wife, Pat, shared a passion for travel and together explored the world, creating unforgettable memories.
Gene was also a highly respected businessman, serving as CFO of Blandin Paper Company and holding leadership roles at the Blandin Foundation as CFO and CEO. His commitment to his career and community made him a model leader and positively influenced many lives.
Those who knew Gene speak of his honesty, caring attitude, humility, and tireless work ethic. Above all, "integrity" is a word many people feel best describes him. He encouraged others through his steadfast moral principles and dedication to doing what was right. Gene was exceptionally generous, always prioritizing his family's needs, but his kindness extended beyond his loved ones. He committed time and resources to charitable causes, consistently helping those in need. His generosity touched many and left an enduring mark.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Agnes Radecki and is survived by his loving spouse of 67 years, Pat; children, Bob (Lori), Linda (Ron), and Gregg (Jeralyn); 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Ron Radecki (Anne); and sister, Gerri Tillman (Ernie).
His memory stays with everyone who loved him and those he touched, and his legacy of integrity, leadership, and compassion continues to inspire all who knew him. He was simply a very good man.
