Elizabeth Ann Currie

Dec 11, 1930 — Sep 9, 2026

Elizabeth Ann Currie (95) passed away peacefully at Brookdale Senior Living Care Center in Eagan, MN on Sept. 9, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Curtis and Elsie Foreman.

Elizabeth grew up on a farm in Nebraska. She attended primary school in a one-room school house, before moving on to York High School, and eventually The University of Omaha for a BS in nursing. She went on to have a long career as a registered nurse (most of it at Boynton Health Service at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis), from which she retired in 1996. In 1964, Elizabeth married her long time husband (Gary Currie), with whom she shared sixty-two beautiful years of marriage. Together they raised a family based on love, laughter, and a genuine belief in wonder. Known for her kindness, empathy, sense of humor, dedication to church, and love of family and community, she had a passion for reading, socializing, traveling, collecting, and cats. Elizabeth was happiest when she was doing something with others and/or for them; showing up in the world each day with a calming grace, and unique aura of approachability.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by husband (Gary Currie), sister (Rose), and brother (Mark). She is survived by her sisters (Gertrude and Joan), son (Malcolm), and niece (Debbie). Elizabeth’s warmth, spunk, and laughter will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lutheran church of the Redeemer or to the family for their choice in charity at the time of the service.
