Joseph John Skwira
Jul 23, 1971 — Aug 3, 2026
Joseph John "Joe" Skwira, 55, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 3, 2026. Born July 23, 1971, in Minneapolis, Joe was a devoted father, beloved son, brother, and friend whose life was defined by unwavering faith, generosity, and a heart that always put others first.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Karen Skwira.
He is survived by his daughters, Claire, Chloe, Lydia, and Mikayla; Jody Skwira, the mother of his children; his siblings, Peter Skwira, Michael Skwira, and Ann Skwira-Brown; his beloved cat, Ricky; and many cherished relatives, lifelong friends, coworkers, and neighbors.
Joe grew up in Richfield and graduated from St. John's University before building a successful career as a Chief Financial Officer. As a child, some of his happiest memories were made at his family's cabin, Black Eagle Lodge, a place he treasured throughout his life. Nothing brought him greater joy than returning there with his own daughters, enjoying the traditions and simple pleasures that had shaped his childhood.
His greatest accomplishment was being a father. He loved teaching his daughters everything from fishing, schoolwork and life lessons, always encouraging them to be capable, confident, and kind. Known for his gentle spirit, generous heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand, Joe made everyone around him feel cared for. His legacy of love, compassion, and quiet strength will live on in all who knew him.
