Larry Dean Benson

Larry Benson, 76, passed away on March 29, 2026, in West St. Paul, MN. Born on January 12, 1950, Larry grew up around the Kerkhoven area, eventually settling in Belle Plaine to raise his children.

Throughout his life, Larry found immense joy in the company of his family. He loved to go on road trips and spent as much time as he could traversing America‘s roadways. He loved golfing and spent countless hours watching sports or cheering on his children in athletics and the arts. In recent years, he delighted in playing with his grandsons and watching them grow.

Larry was loyal and dedicated to the happiness of those he cared about most, both family and friends. He was always ready to drop everything to be there when needed. He also found pride and meaning in being dependable and hard-working. Passing down these core values will be his lasting legacy.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, JoAnn (Anderson) Benson; his sons Dean and Michael; daughter-in-law Emily; and beloved grandsons Everett and August.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer & Blanche (Johnson) Benson, as well as his brother Dennis Benson.
