Maribeth Jackson

July 16, 1943 — May 2, 2026

Maribeth Jackson was born July 16th, 1943 in the city of Chicago, Illinois. She is the first child born to the union of Frank Lee Thornton and Dorothy Marie Thornton. At an early, Maribeth tragically lost her mother and was raised by her maternal grandmother Mary (Mu) Anderson. Maribeth accepted Christ at an early age., and went on to graduate from Lucy Flowers in 1960. Soon after she met the love of her life Roosevelt Jackson and to this union two children were born Tyrone and Judith Jackson.

Maribeth was an amazing homemaker for years as her children got older she ventured into the workforce and started her career at the United States Postal Service which she proudly worked for 27 years. After an early retirement at the age of 55 Maribeth decided to move to Minnesota to start a new chapter to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. In time she started her employment with Warners' Stellian Appliances where she worked for 23 more years. She retired for the second time, and then became more involved with her church and spent more time with her grandchildren.

Maribeth departed this life on May 2nd, 2026 with her daughter Judith and her grand daughter Javon by her side. Maribeth leaves to cherish her memory her children Tyrone and Judith Jackson; her brother Gregory (Gloria) Thornton; her eight grandchildren Jenise, Javon, Jasmine, Jorie (Kyle), Jordan; granddaughter in-law Joana, Nathaniel, and Jonathan; Five great grandchildren DeJauna, DeShaun, Xavier, DeNaiyah, Jamir and;  one great great grandchild Dallas and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Family and Friends.

 Maribeth is reunited in heaven with her husband Roosevelt; her parents Frank and Dorothy; sister Sharon and; her beloved grandson Jeremy Jackson. And a host of other loved ones. Maribeth will be greatly missed by all those who loved and cherished her.
