Faye Pruitt Jackson

Dec 25, 1940 — Dec 28, 2025

In Loving Memory

The family of Faye Pruitt Jackson, 85, of West Columbia, SC is saddened to announce her passing on December 28, 2025. She was born on December 25, 1940 in Knoxville, TN to the late Fred Worthy Pruitt (1897-1962) and Ida Bell Brookshire Pruitt (1908-1979).

Faye grew up in Belmont, NC and was a 1959 graduate of Belmont High School. She went on to graduate from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC in 1962, and began her nursing career with the Charlotte Orthopedic Clinic before working for Southern Engineering.

In 1963, she married her loving husband, Norwood L. Jackson, and the two moved to West Columbia in 1968. She enjoyed her many pets over the years, reading Jack Reacher novels, shopping, and dining out with Norwood, who passed away in 2021 after 57 years of marriage. Her favorite thing in life, though, was her children and grandchildren. To her family, she was affectionately known as Nana, and she was a wonderful Nana. She lived to spoil her grandchildren, and was a constant source of love in their lives.

After moving to South Carolina, she worked at Lexington County Hospital in the labor & delivery ward, Crawford Health Management, Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, and as a nursing home and a labor & delivery ward inspector for DHEC. She retired in 2005 after 26 years of state employment.

Faye will be lovingly remembered by her son Michael Jackson of West Columbia, her daughter Dana Jackson Crowley & son-in-law Bob Crowley of Leesville, and her grandchildren, Logan and Lauren Crowley. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Norwood L. Jackson (1938-2021) and siblings Homer Leroy Pruitt, Floyd Elbridge Pruitt, Charlie Monroe Pruitt, and Eva Pruitt Martin Burns.

A memorial service is planned for 3 pm on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the chapel at Woodridge Memorial Park & Funeral Home at 138 Corley Mill Rd., Lexington, SC 29072. A visitation hour will be held prior to the service from 2-3 pm. A private burial is planned for a later date at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
