Van Buren Morrison III, 73, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on May 2, 2026.
Born on December 9, 1952, in Danville, Virginia, Van was the son of the late Van Buren Morrison, Jr. and Gladys Amos Morrison. He lived a life grounded in family, loyalty, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.
Van was an avid NASCAR fan and rarely missed a race. He also enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Miami Dolphins, spending many hours watching games and sharing that passion with those around him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Patricia P. Morrison; his youngest son, Michael P. Morrison; his sister, Mary Louise Morrison; and his brother, Larry W. Morrison.
Van is survived by his sons: Christopher N. Morrison (Jennifer) and Jeffrey L. Morrison. He leaves behind a cherished legacy in his grandchildren: Elizabeth Morrison, Madigan Arthur (Bryson), Blake Morrison (Camryn), Jaden Morrison, Kameron Morrison, Corbin Morrison, and Briggs Morrison.
He is also survived by his brothers, Stephen O’Neil Morrison and Davie Alan Morrison (Sharon); his sister, Carolyn Coleman (Fredrick); and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 2003 Charleston Hwy, Cayce, SC 29033.
Van will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to those closest to him, and the many memories he created that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
