Caryn Alyse Garcia

May 20, 1990 — Jun 13, 2026

Caryn Alyse Roy Garcia, born in Mesa AZ, on 5/20/1990, passed away on June/13/2026 at the age of 36, in the Mayo Clinic Hospital after an 8-year battle with breast cancer. She outlived her mom, Julie Ann Roy, by 19 days, who also passed away at the age of 36 from breast cancer.

Caryn’s funeral, a celebration of her life, will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, at 830 E. Lehi Rd, Mesa, AZ. 85203, at 10:00am Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Caryn is survived by her husband, Flavio, her dad, Steve Roy, her brother Eric, and sisters Carissa, Carly, Victoria, and Celeste, as well as a niece and 4 nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Caryn also had a step-mom Jennifer and an extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins from Jennifer’s side who all accepted her at an early age as one of their own.

Words cannot describe the sense of mortal loss we are experiencing, as Caryn leaves a huge void in our lives. Caryn was a wonderful and loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Caryn was a kind, caring soul, who was musically gifted, and a talented artist. She loved to socialize and made many close friendships over the years, as evident in that two of her friends flew in from Canada to be with her in her final few hours. Caryn loved to travel, dance, and have fun. She also loved family history and genealogy, having been the family prodigy of her loving departed genealogist Aunt Florene.

Caryn and Flavio were married in March of 2024, and made a beautiful, welcoming home together, along with their service dog Atlas (a playful German Shepherd). They traveled the world together in the meaningful time they were married. The family is very grateful to Flavio for making such a wonderful life for Caryn these last few years, and for making her happy, for his love and dedication to her.

We believe families can be forever. And after having a successful run through mortality, albeit short, we envision Caryn enjoying many sweet reunions with grandparents, many loved ones, and ancestors, many of whom she discovered in her genealogy research, and most especially dancing and having fun again with her mom.

We miss you deeply Caryn, but we’ll see you soon Cutie Pie.
