James Walter Kiesel
June 29, 1951 — April 30, 2026
Born 6/29/1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and welcomed into the family of parents William P. and Helen M. Kiesel, and brother Billy, who unfortunately passed away a few years later. When Jim was seven years old, his father’s employer, Brantly Helicopter, relocated to Frederick, Oklahoma, a small town of 4000 people in the southwest corner of Oklahoma. Married Helen M. Philpot in 2/12/2005. Jim was a kind and loving husband and Helen’s best friend.
Graduated high school in Frederick Oklahoma in 1969. Jim earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, New Mexico State University, a master's degree in Hospital Administration, Norwich University Military Academy
Served in the Marine Corps 1/1971 – 1/1977. He intercepted Foreign Military Morse Code. Held a Top Security Clearance. Made Sgt E-5 in 2 ½ years. He was stationed in San Diego, Puerto Rico, Homestead Florida, Camp Lejeune NC, Hawaii and Vietnam
Had a hospital career for 36 years. Held various positions including Social Worker, Discharge Planner, Executive Assistant, Medical Staff Services Director, Quality Management Director, Assistant Administrator. Retired from working at The New Foundation Behavioral Health Care in 2016.
He had several passions in his life:
- *Involved in Martial Arts for 36 years. Held color belts in four different disciplines:
- -Shaolin Kung Fu Green Belt
- -Taekwon-Do Purple Belt
- -Ni-Goju-Ryu Orange Belt
- -GoShin-Do Kyokai Black Belt
- *Opened up his own Dojo as Sensei and taught GoShin-Do Kyokai for three years 2002, 2003, 2004
- *A dedicated fan of college and NFL football
- *Jim loved cats, respected their independence, agility and their ability to return love and dedication.
- *Mostly, Jim was a proud American patriot and United States Marine, who fought for his country and loved the American flag and what it stands for.
Jim Kiesel leaves behind a wife, many dear friends and Marine Corp. brothers, who will always honor his life and cherish his friendship. Always faithful – Semper Fi.
