Judith Ann Mulcahey Reihard was born in 1942 to Mary Rita (Ryan) and John Patrick Mulcahey in Colfax, IL.

Judy’s primary education began in a one-room schoolhouse in rural Illinois, continued through elementary and early high school in the Octavia school district, and she completed her final years of high school at Sacred Heart Academy. Judy earned a bachelor’s degree from the Illinois State University and a master’s degree from Arizona State University.

Judy moved to Arizona in 1964 and began her career in education in the Tempe Union High School District with the opening of McClintock High School. Throughout her 60+ years as a high school math teacher, she taught at most of the schools in the TUHSD and also online for the Maricopa Community Colleges.

Judy and Harold married in 1968. They both enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, fishing, or at their cabin in northern AZ. Judy’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and she was blessed with one daughter.

Judy was a devote Catholic her entire life. She had a fierce will to live and keep active. Judy traveled to many destinations, both domestic and international. She participated in many hobbies, including sewing, cross stitch, ancestry research, and card making. She was a member of BSF, PEO, and library book club.

Judy passed away on December 13, 2025 at the age of 82. She is preceded in death by her parents, her infant brother Daniel, her double first cousins Mary Ann and David, and her husband Harold. She is survived by her brother Danton Francis and her daughter Anne Marie. She was beloved by her extensive network of family, life-long friends, fellow teachers and students.

A funeral mass and reception will be held in her honor on Friday January 23, 2026 at 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tempe, AZ for family, friends, former coworkers and students in Arizona. Additional services and committal of remains will occur later in the spring for family and friends in Illinois.
