Thomas Walter Marshall

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Thomas Walter Marshall, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tom was born on March 11, 1949, in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Shelton, Washington, before eventually making his home in Arizona. He was a proud member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #26, where he worked until his retirement.

Tom was someone who believed in living life to the fullest. Throughout his life, he found some of his greatest happiness outdoors. He loved being in the woods, enjoying the peace and beauty of nature, and especially the excitement of hunting. For Tom, the outdoors wasn’t simply a hobby—it was a place where he felt free, at peace, and truly himself.

He also had a lifelong love of sports. He enjoyed watching games, talking about sports with family and friends, and playing whenever he had the opportunity. Baseball held a particularly special place in his heart. His enthusiasm for the game was something those who knew him will always remember.

But perhaps what people will remember most about Tom was his heart. He was a man who was willing to help others whenever he could. He cared about the people around him and was always ready to lend a hand to someone in need. His generosity, his sense of humor, his stories, and the time he shared with the people he loved created memories that will remain long after his passing.

For nearly six years, Tom courageously battled cancer. Even through the challenges and complications of his illness, he continued to face life with strength and determination. His journey was not an easy one, but the love of his family and friends remained an important part of his life throughout his battle.

Tom leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and who will carry his memory forward. He is survived by his beloved Spouse, Judy Welsheimer, and his children, Angela Marshall, Monica Criteser, Kirsandra Aguilar, Katiana Welsheimer, and Coleton Welsheimer.

He is also survived by his siblings, Rick Marshall, Judy Hill, Theresa Head, and Mary Jones.

Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Engen; Robert Mutti; Jerry Marshall; his mother, Ann Thatcher; and his father, Frank Marshall.

Although Tom is no longer with us, his life will continue through the people who knew and loved him. He will live on in the stories told around the dinner table, in memories of time spent together, in the woods and outdoors he loved so much, and in every baseball game that brings back thoughts of him.

We will miss his presence, his laughter, his stories, and the unique way he made an impression on the lives around him. Most of all, we will miss simply having him here.

Tom lived his life to the fullest, loved deeply, helped others, and left this world having made a difference in the lives of those who knew him.

May he now rest peacefully, free from pain, and surrounded by the peace he found so often in the outdoors he loved.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Klahanne Mobile Home Park Clubhouse:

A second Celebration of Life will be held in Tom’s hometown of Shelton, Washington, in the fall of 2027, giving family and friends there an opportunity to gather and honor his life and memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Banner Health Foundation in Tom’s memory.

The family is grateful for the love, prayers, friendship, and support shown to Tom and to his loved ones throughout his illness and at this difficult time.
