Winona Sue Leslie
d. Aug 10, 2026
Winona “Sue” Leslie, 85, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, following a short illness. She was blessed to be surrounded by her loving family during her final days.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Jim Leslie; her son, Robert; her parents, Jim and Daisy Allen; and her brother, Jim Allen.
A proud fifth-generation Arizonan, Sue was born in Miami, Arizona. Throughout her life, she called several small mining communities home, including Miami and San Manuel, Arizona; Blythe, California; and Eagle Mountain, California. In the early 1970s, Sue and Jim moved with their boys to Mesa, Arizona. They later made their home in Apache Junction, where they enjoyed living at the base of the beautiful Superstition Mountains.
For many years, Sue served as the office manager at Mission Medical Center in Mesa. Through her work, she touched countless lives and formed meaningful connections with the doctors, nurses, staff members, and patients she encountered each day. Her dedication and caring nature left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing and working with her.
Sue is survived by her sons, Steven (Joy) and David (Terri); her daughter-in-law, Priscilla; and her sister, Laura Nickel. She dearly loved her six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Sue’s life was deeply rooted in family, Arizona, and those with whom she worked. She will be remembered and greatly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
The family extends their gratitude to Hospice of the Valley for the compassionate care and support provided to Sue and her family.
