The brand was founded in 1952 by John S. Anderson and William F. McQueen, who converted a former family residence at the corner of what is now Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North and 22nd Avenue North into a funeral home. Following the deaths of both founders, William McQueen's three children assumed operations in 1987 and expanded the brand, acquiring a second St. Petersburg funeral home location in 1990, opening the city's first on-site crematory in 1997, and operating Sunnyside Cemetery, one of the three oldest cemeteries in St. Petersburg, established in 1895 and acquired by Anderson McQueen in 1984.
