Marysville Cemetery

Marysville Cemetery is a cemetery in Marysville, Washington. The location provides burial services, cremation services, graveside services, and pre-need cemetery property.

Marysville Cemetery spans 14.5 acres. The site was used informally as a burial ground by early Marysville pioneers beginning in the 1880s, with family plots separated by fences or shrubbery and wide lanes left between them to allow horse-drawn wagons to reach individual graves. In the 1890s, the property was platted as the I.O.O.F. (Independent Order of Odd Fellows) Cemetery, and it was officially replatted as Marysville Cemetery in 1931. Early burial records were kept informally, and some of the earliest interments are verifiable only through surviving tombstones.

Marysville Cemetery is not affiliated with Marysville City Cemetery in Marysville, California; historical references to an 1850 founding date, gold rush-era events, or other California-specific history do not pertain to this location.

Historical military burial records trace veteran interments, including Civil War and Spanish-American War veterans, back to 1861. The grounds are also the burial site of Mark Swinnerton, Marysville's first mayor, among other historically notable interments highlighted in a 2024 Marysville Historical Society tour of the property. Each Memorial Day weekend, the American Legion Post 178 partners with local volunteers and cemetery staff to install the Avenue of Flags, raising and lowering more than 250 donated veteran burial flags daily along the cemetery driveways.

The cemetery includes cremation niches and family and private cemetery lots. Marysville Cemetery is located across the street from Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery; the two properties are managed as separate entities and may coordinate with local funeral providers when needed.

Marysville Cemetery does not operate an on-site crematory, does not offer pet burial, and does not include a chapel or service room.
