William Isaac Derting

William Isaac Derting, age 84, of Hiltons, VA, entered into eternal rest on Sunda, April 12, 2015. He was very proud of his time working as an Electrolux representative. He was a proud Veteran having served his country in the United States Army. He was a very proud father whom loved his children very much. He was preceded in death by his son, Dwight Derting; parents, Forest and Kate Derting; and mother of Greg and Nancy, Jean Marie Derting. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Nancy Cox Derting; children, Greg Derting (Brenda), Nancy Anderson (Bobby), Libby Derting and Jason Derting (Becky); grandchildren, Myla and Mattea Anderson, Anna Kate and Caroline Derting; sisters, Jeanette Snapp (Joe), and Margie Ketron (Jack); sister-in-law, Lois Shipman (Richard); mother of children, Pauline Derting; special pet dog, Susie; several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2015, at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Claude Babbs officiating. Interment will follow with Military services performed by American Legion Posts 3/265 Honor Guard at Mount Vernon UMC Cemetery in Hiltons, VA.
