" Easthampton - Danny G. Turgeon, 33, of Ridgewood Terrace passed away on February 19, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 29, 1975 in Rochester, NY, son of Jean-Denis Turgeon of Notre-Dame Des Bois, Canada and Lise Brodeur of Sherbrooke, Canada. Danny was raised in Sherbrooke, Canada where he lived for over 20 years, he then moved to Chicopee and most recently in Easthampton for the past four years. Danny was the co-owner along with his brother Francois of Frenchie Drywall in Easthampton for eight years. In his leisure, he enjoyed golfing. Besides his loving parents, he is survived by his step-father Bruno Gingras of Sherbrooke, Canada, a brother Francois Turgeon and his wife Sonia Sicotte, his special godson Adam Danny Turgeon all of Easthampton and his paternal grandfather Ernest Turgeon of Sherbrooke, Canada. The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to registered nurse Amy Potter and all the doctors and nurses at Dana Farber Cancer Institute for their care of Danny while he was in the hospital. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St (Rt116) South Hadley, MA. Friends and family may gather at 9:00 a.m. on Monday to process to the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, in Chicopee for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Danny Turgeon Donation Fund c/o Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Broookline, MA 02445. "
