Edgar F. Gilman
June 8th, 1935 - August 13th, 2003
" Edgar F. Gilman, 68 of St. John St. passed away August 13, 2003 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Glenridge, NJ, June 8, 1935, he was the only son of the late George and Anna (Laukaitis) Gilman. Ed spent his childhood in Caldwell,NJ, and later lived in Livingston,NJ, Florida and Texas. For the past 15 years, he and his wife resided in Palmer. He previously worked for AT & T , former Allied Store Corp. in a managerial position, and currently was employed with Hills Home Food Service. He was a member of the Kiwanis, a lifetime senator of the Jaycees and served on the zoning board for the town of Livingston, NJ. Ed was a sports enthusiast during his college career at Rutgers he played football and lacrosse. He later enjoyed watching his children participate in sporting activities. He will be missed greatly by his wife of 46 years, Gail (Chedister), as well as his three sons, Craig of Clearwater, FL, Jeffrey of Ft. Davis,TX and Christopher of Belchertown. Ed also leaves his five grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held Tuesday at 10:00am in St Francis Church, Park St., Belchertown. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church. Anyone who will not be able to attend the memorial mass may extend their condolences to the family Monday from 7:00-9:00pm at the BEERS & STORY BELCHERTOWN FUNERAL HOME, 10 Maple St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers please make donations in his memory to American Heart Assoc. of W.Massachusetts, 1111 Elm St., W.Springfield,MA 01089. "
