March 20th, 1935 - June 8th, 2011
"Belchertown - Darwin E. Francis, 76, of Chestnut Dr., died on June 8, 2011at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. He was born March 20, 1935 in Christiansburg, OH, son of the late William W. Francis and Mary F. (Munford) Baker. Darwin retired in 1995, as a mix room operator for Rexam Graphics in South Hadley after working for 14 years. He served his country in the US Army and was an active member of Mt. Holyoke Lodge A.F. & A.M. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathleen (Gavin) Francis of Belchertown. He will also be missed by a son Stephen Francis and his wife Edna of Germany, two step-daughters, Cindy Jopson and her husband Russ of Belchertown and Chris O'Donnell and her husband Charlie of Coppell, TX, a brother Jack Francis of St. Paris, OH, as well as seven grandchildren Kelli, Ryan, Heather, Emma, Eileen, Janika and Bryan. Darwin was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda J. Ferguson. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Church. Calling hours will be Friday, June 10, 2011 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Shriners Burn Center in Boston, MA.
