Gloria Phyllis Bransky, age 78, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011. Gloria was born January 28, 1933 in Queens, NY to the late Sam and the late Freida Schechter. Gloria worked as a bookkeeper, in real estate and in her husband, Irv's, printing business, prior to coming to Las Vegas in 1988. Once in Las Vegas, Gloria quickly became known to synagogues and organizations as a tireless volunteer and efficient organizer. She was involved in most of the synagogues in Southern Nevada, as well as the Jewish Community Center, Jewish War Veterans, Hadassah, and many groups in Sun City Summerlin. Many will remember her creation of the Mitzvah Mavens, for which she received Congressional Recognition for her leadership. Gloria is survived by her children Beri Weisman, Cher Bransky and Gina (Ron) Sadora; daughter-in-law Sylvia Jonathan; grandchildren Anna and Lena Weisman, David, Mark and Kevin Bransky, Ben, Jen and Ray Gillenwater and Pauline and Jason Sadora; great grandson Misha Weisman; nephews Steven Eskenazi, Jeffrey Adler, Michael Schechter and Mark Schechter; and many close friends, including her very special friend, Dan Brown. She is predeceased by her husband, Irv, and her son, Steve. A graveside service will be held 2:00PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, Palm Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, 89123. After the service, there will be a gathering at the Siena Bistro Restaurant at the Siena Golf Club, 10575 Siena Monte Ave. Las Vegas, NV 89135. This celebration of Gloria's life will continue through the minyan, which will take place at 7:00 PM at Siena Bistro. Contributions in Gloria's memory may be made to a favorite charity.
