Michael Chalamish, age 85, of Las Vegas died Friday, August 21, 2009. Michael was born April 6, 1924 in Tel Aviv, Israel. He is the son of the late Shimon and the late Esther (Erenburg) Chalamish. Michael was a soldier with the Haganah and after the formation of the State of Israel, became one of the first pilots in the Israeli Air Force. Michael was the first of three generations of Chalamish pilots; the first family in Israel to have three generations of pilots in the Israeli Air Force. He is survived by his wife: Malka (Gurevitz) Chalamish, daughter: Amira Chalamish of Las Vegas, NV; son: Harel (Sara) Chalamish of Israel; daughter-in-law: Dr. Malka Barnes of Los Angeles, CA.; 8 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Gior Chalamish. A burial was held in Israel.
