Lillian Warner, 94, of St. Petersburg, passed away on January 24, 2013. Born in Quincy, MA, she is survived by her son David and his partner, Larry Biddle, of St. Petersburg, FL; her son Kenneth, daughter-in-law Lorraine and grandsons Jeff and Justin of Kingston, MA; her sister Pauline DeWitt of North Attleboro, MA and nephews and nieces Paula, Judy, Nancy, Will, James, Dan and their families; and her former husband, Douglas, of Brewster, MA. The daughter of Henry and Mayme Denbroeder, Lillian grew up in North Abington, MA, and studied theater at Emerson College. She also had an aptitude for bookkeeping, and worked for many years as supervisor of the accounting department at Bass River Savings Bank, S. Yarmouth, MA. She loved reading, flowers, Cape Cod, Days of Our Lives and the Boston Red Sox, though she shifted allegiance a bit to the Tampa Bay Rays after moving from Dennisport, MA, to St. Petersburg in 2006, where she lived at The Fountains, a retirement and assisted living facility. She was a frequent guest at the home of her son David and his partner Larry, where she became a de facto member of the Roser Park neighborhood and could sometimes be persuaded to show off her uncanny knack for astrology, palmistry and handwriting analysis. And as a woman who always looked at least 10 years younger than she was, she beamed whenever someone complimented her on her smooth skin and fashionable hats. A graveside service (date to be determined) will be held for Lillian at Swan Lake Cemetery in Dennisport a" a short distance away from the home where she lived for 44 years. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family. Service Information
