Walter Sklar, 97, of St. Petersburg, passed away January 15, 2013. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Maida; his devoted daughters, Jona Van Zyle of Alaska, Carol and Sandra Sklar of California; and his beloved parrot, Tinker. Walter worked hard to build his successful hide brokerage business in Cleveland, Ohio. He, Maida, and family also enjoyed camping, sailboat racing, and travel adventures. Walter meant a lot to many people, but to his family, he meant the world. A private cremation has been planned. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family. Service Information
