John was born in Yugoslavia. His mother was a widow. They moved to Israel when he was 7 years, old, a year later, they moved to Vienna. In 1952 they immigrated to the United States. he was an only child, raised by a single mother. Worked in the insurance industry, prior to retiring to Pahrump in 2005.
