Alberta B. Colburn, 98, of St. Pete Beach, was united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 10, 2012. Born in Baltimore, MD she was an East end correspondent for the Baltimore News and founded a childrens activities & sports club in MD. Upon moving to Florida, she co-founded the Widowed Persons Services of Pinellas County and PALS Social Club in 1982, of which she served as president. She was an award winning and published poet of Christian and inspiration works. Her greatest joys were her family and sharing the gospel message. Preceded in death by her spouse, Wayne, of 45 years, she is survived by her daughters, Barbara Armsworthy, Connie Sample (Richard), grandchildren Carlla and Theodore Armsworthy, Barbara Bennett (Gregory), Bonnie Matthews (Brent), and 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A Homecoming Celebration will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Pasadena Community Church Goodwin Chapel 227 - 70th St. S, St. Petersburg. David C.
