Harry H. Winning Jr. passed on October 2, 2012 at Baytree Lakeside Assisted Living Facility with his wife of 67 years by his side. Mr. Winning was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1922. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, and two sons; Harry Winning III of Phoenix, Arizona and John Winning of Gulfport, Florida, and a grandchild, Harry Winning IV of California and his children. Mr. Winning served his country for 22 years, first in the Army Air Corp during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart with Clusters and numerous other decorations including Presidential Unit Citations and the Distinguished Flying Cross and then in the United States Air Force Reserves. He followed up his military career with 30 years at Sears and Roebuck, retiring as general manager of the Pembrook store in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He spent the last 30 years involved in realty in Pinellas County, and through his career served on numerous military, civic and charitable foundations.
