Janeth "Gail" Presley, 90, of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully Feb. 27th, 2009. Born on March 6th, 1919 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bardella Sr., she was a former nurse and was well known for her involvement with local, state, and national Republican politics. "Gail" served as president of the Women's Republican Club of St. Petersburg for more than 25 years. During that time, she also was chairman of the annual Lincoln Day Dinners, served as a delegate to the Republican National Conventions for both Ronald Reagan & George H.W. Bush, and assisted many local Republicans with their successful campaigns. She was known as "The Lady to go to if you needed something done." She was preceded in death by her devoted husband John and younger brother Don Bardella Jr. Survivors include two sons, Maurice (Jackie) and Michael C. (Patty) Pilver Sr.; sisters Barbara Joiner and Carole Ann Bardella; sister-in-law Shirley Bardella; grandchildren David L. Pilver, Michael C. Pilver Jr., and Stephanie Pilver; great-grandchildren Grant and Ryan Pilver; step grandsons Ryan Ewing and Michael Hudson; as well as several nephews and nieces. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family has planned private services. David C. Gross Funeral Home is serving the family. Service Information
