Judy P. Appelbaum

Judy Plotka Appelbaum, 59, of Tierra Verde, passed away January 15, 2017. Judy was born in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She held Sales and Marketing roles with IBM, Nynex, and Computerland. She worked tirelessly in support of the Temple Beth-El Art Show and worked to raise thousands of dollars to fight Cancer with the American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen. Additionally, she touched the lives of scores of women battling Cancer, reaching out personally to help guide them and offer support. She was happiest as Ali’s mom, watching her perform, dancing in the kitchen with her husband Roy, and playing with Sally the cat. Judy is survived by her beloved husband of 23 years, Roy; daughter, Ali; mother, Thelma "Toots" Plotka; brothers, Phillip, Marshall, and Evan (Michelle) Plotka; and many nieces & nephews. Services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, January 18 at Temple Beth-El, 400 Pasadena Ave. S., St. Petersburg. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Largo.
