Kathleen Greenwood Scott (1947 ~ 2024)Kathleen Greenwood Scott, 76 , of Tucson, Arizona, passed away o n Thursday, October 1 7th. She was born o n the Air Force base in Inyokern , CA in 1947 to Thomas and Jane Greenwood, the middle of 5 children. Kathy studied history a t The University o f California, Riverside, where she met her spouse, Brian Scott, and started a family. She went o n to pursue a passion for natural history, conservation, and gardening. Kathy spent a decade volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America while training a s a Master Gardener and Master Naturalist. She gained certifications in native landscaping and wildscaping, helped to found the Trinity Forks branch of the Native Plant Society of Texas, and worked for the Botanical Institute o f Texas. After retiring to Arizona, Kathy volunteered with the Friends of the San Pedro River and the Huachuca City Community Garden.  

Kathleen was preceded in death b y her parents, Thomas and Jane Greenwood, and her sister, Julie Ray. She is survived b y children Miles Scott, Charles Cunningham-Scott, Rebecca Scott Weiss; grandchildren Thomas Scott, Graham Cunningham-Scott, Elliott Cunningham-Scott; and b y siblings John Greenwood, Beth Greenwood, and Carol Greenwood.  

A celebration of life will b e scheduled a t Sky Island UUA in Sierra Vista, AZ, and the interment of her ashes will b e a t Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands, CA . In lieu o f flowers, please consider donating to your local botanical garden o r state park.
