Theresa Ann (Atherton) Trompke, 63, of Granby MA was called home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2024 after sharing a special Christmas Eve with her beloved family.

She was born on January 5, 1961 in Athol MA, where she grew up with her younger brother Mark. Terry graduated from Athol High School in 1979.  In 1983, Terry married her best friend and the love of her life, James Trompke. They resided together in Granby where they raised their son Brian, who brought great pride and joy to them. She and Brian particularly enjoyed rooting for the New England Patriots.

Terry will be remembered as a vibrant, caring woman with a bubbly personality, always making others feel welcomed and special.  She enjoyed attending church and fellowshipping with the many friends she made. She loved her winters spent at their home in Bradenton, Florida, visiting family and time relaxing at the beach.  Terry and her husband, Jim, embarked on many entrepreneurial business ventures over the years. Her support and guidance was essential to their business success, particularly their most recent venture, The Wine Haus in Granby.  Terry was blessed to have a wonderful daughter-in-law, Michelle, with whom she shared an exceptionally close bond. Terry was not only a dedicated wife and mother but also a devoted grandmother to her two precious grandchildren Lukas Trompke (5) and Lily Trompke (3). Terry cherished the time she was able to spend with them, laughing, playing, shopping on Amazon, and sharing sweets.

Terry will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her, particularly her husband James Trompke of Granby, MA, her son Brian and wife Michelle Trompke, along with their children Lukas and Lily Trompke of Granby, and her many in-laws; Richard and Judith Trompke from Bradenton, FL, James and Cathie Slate from Nashua, NH, David and Lynn Trompke, John and Susan Trompke, David and Caroline Bessette, and Richard and Betsy Rosazza, all from Granby, as well as Alan Trompke from Methuen, MA. She is also survived by two beloved aunts, Barbara Atherton from Farmington, CT, and Lois Trompke from St. Petersburg, FL. Terry leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, along with numerous cousins who will cherish her memory in their hearts forever.  Terry is preceded in death by her father Franklin Atherton in 2004, her brother Mark Atherton in 2005, her father-in-law Ernest Trompke in 1996, and mother-in-law Grace Trompke in 2004.

Calling hours will be held at the Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home on Monday January 6, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Second Baptist Church in South Hadley, MA on Tuesday January 7, 2025 at 10:00am.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, a cause that was particularly important to Terry, as she was a type 1 diabetic for the majority of her lifetime.
