Mona Cowgill, of Loveland, entered her heavenly home on March 30th. 2025, two days before her 85th birthday. She died of natural causes.

She was born on April 1st, 1940, to Warren and Theresa Kohlman in Wray, Colorado. She was the middle child in a family of five siblings. Her favorite memories were of those she spent growing up on her family’s farm in eastern Colorado. She remarked how she loved the one room schoolhouse she attended until about grade 8.

As a teenager the family moved to the Denver area where she attended Englewood Highschool. There she met Richard Cowgill and later married. Together they raised three children, Rick, Cindy, and Rob. Favorite early motherhood activities included camping trips, family get togethers, board games, sledding, ice skating, raising pets, and engaging the neighborhood kids in softball games. She liked the homemaker role when her children were young. As they got older, she enjoyed employment in various roles, with a variety of companies, (JCPenney, Lego Corp., IBM, Hach Co., USPS), always enjoying the friendships she made while at work.

Mona was a bit of an adventurer and didn’t like staying in one place for very long. She moved often and made many lifelong friends in every state she lived in. CA, CO, WY, MO, KS, NE. Throughout her life she stayed in touch with them by spending many leisure hours on the phone, talking and cackling away at hilarious conversations. She truly enjoyed her friendships. What will be missed the most is all the laughter.

She was a devoted Grammie, often moving to whatever state her grandchildren lived in, so she could be part of their lives. She treasured her grandkids.

Some of her hobbies included sewing, woodworking, gardening, reading, playing Sudoku and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter Cindy Porter (Matt) of CO, son Rob Cowgill (Kim) of MO, daughter-in-law Kathy of IA, sister Joy Loney of IA, brother Terry Kohlman ( Maggie) of WI, her grandchildren, Amber, Douglas, Ashley, David, Autumn, Michelle and Clayton; and ten great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Rich, son Rick, parents, brothers Stanley and Wink Kohlman, in-laws Ben, Evelyn, Dick, Barb, Gloria, and nephew Jack.

A private family memorial will take place on a future date.

Friends, sip a cup of coffee, (she loved her coffee), or plant some daisies (her favorites) or tell a funny joke (laughter was her thing!) while enjoying your remembrance of Mona.
