Charles Anthony Hurtado, Jr.

On August 6, 2025, Charles Anthony Hurtado, a cherished father, loving brother, and devoted friend, departed this world at the age of 44 in Lakewood, Colorado. Born on August 2, 1981, in Denver, Colorado, Charles brought joy and laughter wherever he went, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Charles was a devoted father to his two beloved sons, Anthony and David Hurtado. His love for them was profound and unconditional, and he often remarked that being their father was his greatest achievement. He also leaves behind his two younger brothers, Nathan and Ian Hurtado, along with a vast network of loving family members, including uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces, all of whom will deeply miss his spirited presence. Growing up, Charles attended Centennial Elementary School in Broomfield, Baker Elementary School, Hodgkin's Middle School in Westminster, and graduated from Westminster High School. He was known for his infectious laughter and his ability to make friends with everyone he met. His kindness, loyalty, and genuine interest in others made magic in his relationships; he always went out of his way to help those in need. Charles enjoyed a varied career path, working for many years in the restaurant kitchen industry, construction, and warehouse shipping and receiving. Throughout his professional life, his colleagues admired him for his hard work and dedication, but it was his vibrant personality that truly made him stand out. Known affectionately as "Chucky," he could always be found joking around, and he had a unique talent for uplifting others' spirits. In his free time, Charles loved to immerse himself in nature, finding solace in fishing, swimming, and camping. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes and simply hanging out at the park with his family and friends. His zest for life was contagious, and he cherished every moment spent with loved ones. As we reflect on his exceptional life, we remember Charles's favorite verse: "Psalm 34:4-5 - I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears." This sentiment encapsulates his approach to life; he often sought solace in faith and encouraged others to embrace hope and positivity through any challenges they faced. A memorial service will be held at Romero Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28th, at 9:00 AM. Family and friends are welcomed to gather afterwards to share stories, reminisce, and celebrate the incredible life of Charles Anthony Hurtado.
