On August 25, 2025, Ricky Tuialu’ulu’u was called home to be with our Heavenly Father, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.

Ricky was born on April 29, 1964, in Santa Ana, CA.

From Santa Ana he moved around as a child to San Francisco CA, Georgia,  Ft. Lewis, WA and for a short time to Carson CA, before coming back to Marina CA, where he settled and called home for the next 40+ years. He purchased his home in Spreckles, CA 16 years ago where he could provide a home for my parents so they could move back from Barstow, CA to be closer.

Ricky graduated from Seaside High School in 1982, where his creativity and magnetic personality made him a stellar student, as well as a loved and trusted friend to classmates, building bonds and relationships that continue to this day.

Ricky began his civil service career in 1987 with the Dept. of the Army. He transitioned to the Department of the Navy in 1994, bringing his total years of civil service to 38 years.

In 1998, Ricky furthered his education at Masters Institute, receiving his degree while working full time.

Ricky wasn’t just a big brother to his younger siblings, but also another parent who not only cooked, cleaned and looked after his siblings, but helped them with school projects and homework. He loved his family, especially the children of his brothers and sisters. Not only did he continue looking after his siblings, he played a vital role in the upbringing of all of his nieces, nephews and “great” nieces and nephews. The absolute best uncle and best big brother that anyone could ask for.

As hard and dedicated of a worker as Ricky was, he never passed up the opportunity to travel. Road trips to visit siblings in other states, or spur of the moment weekend trips to Disneyland were common. To see the child in Ricky showing you around Disneyland made you feel like you really were at the “Happiest place on Earth”, and it really was magical.

First of the Retired Reverend Elika & Litia Tuialu’ulu’u children to be called home, Ricky continues to be the pioneer, the rock of our family, our sounding board, our Big Brother. We take comfort in knowing that he’s gone to a better place, and like our very own Disneyland tour guide, we look forward to the time when he will give each of us a guided tour of the “Happiest Place of All” like only our brother Ricky can.

Rick is survived by his parents, Retired Reverend Elika and Litia Tuialu’ulu’u.

Brothers: Tony Ma’ae and Eric Tuialu’ulu’u

Mission Mortuary - Monterey

Being centrally located on the Monterey Peninsula and adjacent to the San Carlos and Monterey City Cemeteries, Mission Mortuary has been the premier funeral home choice for Monterey and the entire Monterey Bay Peninsula for many years. Mission Mortuary opened its doors in 1946 at a location on Munras Avenue in Monterey and moved to our current location on Camino El Estero in 1952. While times certainly have changed, Mission Mortuary has continually adapted to meet the evolving needs of our families....
