Sharon Eulaila Groh, 85, of Walnut Creek, passed away on August 28, 2025. She was born on November 1, 1939, in Rawlins, Wyoming.
Sharon worked as a Registered Nurse for several years in both Montana and California. She married Jerry Groh in 1965, and together they moved to Walnut Creek in 1971, where she devoted herself to raising their children.
She is survived by her daughters, Colleen Lauer (Jeff) of Concord and Shannon Meranda of Lafayette; her brother and sister-in-law Edward and Janice Cleary; her brother and sister-in-law Martin and Rebecca Groh; and her sister-in-law Jahna Groh. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Meghan Lauer (Adam, fiancé), Brady Lauer, Lucas Meranda, and Logan Meranda, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Sharon had a kind and generous spirit and touched countless lives with her love and sweet personality. She made everyone feel special and was truly everyone’s best friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her sister, Regina Applegate; and her brothers-in-law, Clarence Applegate and Charles Groh.
A Rosary will be held at Oak Park Hills Chapel in Walnut Creek on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 6:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette at 12:30 p.m., with a reception immediately afterward.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sharon Groh may be made to the American Lung Association.
