With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Shelly Loreen Woody, age 64, of Fruitland, Idaho. Shelly passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, surrounded by love.Shelly was born on May 15, 1961 in Boise Idaho and grew up in Nyssa, Oregon.
A vibrant and loving woman, she brought warmth, laughter, and joy into every room she entered. Shelly was always the life of the party, her infectious smile and sense of humor could brighten anyone’s day.
She is survived by her beloved children: Lori Stowell, Shawna Woody, and Nicholas Woody; her grandchildren: Brenden Vertner, Ashley Smith, and Lindsey Stowell; and her cherished great-grandchild: Emry Smith. She is also survived by many extended family members and close friends who will miss her dearly.
Shelly was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and William Mayden; and her brothers, Leslie Mayden and Dick Mayden.
Professionally, Shelly spent many years as a successful business owner before transitioning into a role as an auditor, a position from which she proudly retired. In her personal life, she was a devoted mother, a great friend, and a generous soul.She was a longtime member of Pasco First Christian Church, where she faithfully volunteered her time with Helping Hands, always ready to serve others with compassion and dedication. Shelly loved spending time with her family, especially playing board games and taking vacations with her children. Her legacy is one of laughter, kindness, and unforgettable memories.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the St. Luke’s ICU staff and hospice team for their exceptional care and support during her final days. A celebration of Shelly’s life will be held at a later date. Though Shelly may be gone from our sight, her spirit, laughter, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

For over 100 years, the Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel has served the Ontario, Oregon, community with professional, compassionate care. Our story begins in 1907 when the Peterson family, who owned a furniture store in Ontario, helped with funeral arrangements and sold caskets from the store’s basement. Over the years, the business has grown and had a number of owners, partnerships and names. Among them was our current namesake, the Lienkaemper family, who purchased the family funeral home with the mission of helping families in the Ontario community. ...
