Romero Funeral Home and Cremations - Denver
Pamela Marie Chavez
June 1st, 1953 - September 2nd, 2025
Maria Panfilla Finn ‘Pam’, age 72, a Colorado native and was born in Boone, Colorado, entered into eternity on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Denver, Colorado, peacefully.
Pamela Paxton Chavez was born on June 1, 1953, in Boone, Colorado. Pam was the daughter of Joseph and Patricia Finn (Rodriguez). She spent her childhood in Hot Sulphur Springs, Frazer, Grandby, Montrose and Denver, Colorado.
Pam will be remembered for her mischievousness, setting her own rules on who she was and how she was going to drive her life and fighting the patriarchy. Her passions were cooking and feeding everyone, she shared that passion in many places but her favorite was Dinty’s in Oak Creek, Colorado, where she was known for her crab rellenos. She retired in 2004 from City Market, after 18 years of service in the deli and meat department as well as being a cashier. Pam taught us the importance of hard work, not committing to things unless you had the intention to complete it. She fought every day of her life to be herself, to forge her own path, even if she was late to everything. Her house was the place where all the cousins went for the Summer, she was everyone’s ‘Aunt Pam’ and never met a stranger.
The love and joy of Pam’s life were her children and grandchildren.
Pam is survived by her daughters Dannette Freudenberg (Ray) of Tucson, Tonia of Delta, Colorado and Nona of Denver, Colorado. Grandchildren; Amanda, Michael, Jami, Paxton and Kal-el, her great granddaughter Alice. Her sister’s Rose and Toni Rai. Her brother’s Tony, Bert and Fabian. Pam was proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph and Patricia Finn, her brother Richard Finn, her sisters Jane, Madeline, Dee Dee and her grandson Christopher and lifelong friend, Otto Paxton of Denver, Colorado.
Services will be held Thursday, September 25, at 11 a.m. at The Crossing Church located at 3501 W. 104th Ave, Westminster, Colorado 80031. Please join us for your favorite ‘Pam’ stories at 1 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 8800 Federal Blvd, Federal Heights, Colorado 80260.
