William (Bill) Skowyra, 81, of Three Rivers, died on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with his wife holding his hand.  He was born on July 30, 1944, to John and Catherine (Samek) Skowyra in Ware, MA.  Bill was a Special Education teacher at Palmer High School for 33 years, shaping and enriching the lives of his students.  It was where he fell in love with and later married his classroom aide, RoseMary, and they've been together nearly 50 years.  Bill was extremely proud and loved to brag about  his two sons, Rick and Joe, of their accomplishments and the men they have become.  He loved spending time with them, especially enjoying a couple of beers together.  Bill enjoyed attending car shows, Thursday lunch with his cousin Jim, Friday afternoons with his retired teacher friends at Amvets, and riding around town in his '57 Chevy or '78 Ford truck.  He was also a talented carpenter and made delicious kapusta.  Bill had an outgoing personality, making friends wherever he went, always having a joke or story to tell.  He was favorite "Uncle Billy" to Michael, Gary, Lynn, and Audrey, sharing many fun and crazy times with them as they were growing up, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. Bill led a very full and happy life, filled with love, family and friends. Bill leaves behind his wife RoseMary (Lopata) whom he deeply loved, Rick (Victoria) and Joe, sweet little grandsons Lucas and Jacob, sister Lillian Norton, brother-in-law Walt (Vodge) Lopata, sister-in-law Patricia Skowyra, nieces and nephews, and his favorite cat, Pita. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, John. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, October 15th, from 2-4pm at Beers and Story Funeral Home, Palmer.
