Anne Kilbourn
December 10th, 1942 - October 5th, 2025
Anne Kilbourn, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away unexpectedly in Loveland, Colorado, on October 5th, 2025. She was born on December 10th, 1942, in Crete, Nebraska, to loving parents, Herman and Alice (Boekel) Wissenburg, who instilled in her the values of kindness, faith, and perseverance that she carried throughout her life.
Anne grew up in Wilbur, Nebraska, where she developed her lifelong love for community, music, and learning. She was an active member of the Sokol community and would attend competitions (slets) in many other states. After graduating from Wilber-Claytonia High School, she pursued her education with passion at Colorado Women’s College in Denver and cherished the time she spent studying abroad in Vienna, Austria.
On July 18th, 1970, she married Frank Dee Kilbourn in Denver, Colorado, forming a partnership that afforded them many years of companionship and shared life. They relocated to Edzell, Scotland while Frank finished his military service and where they welcomed their daughter Kathi in 1972. They spent some time back in Nebraska and welcomed their second daughter, Sarah, in 1975.
In 1976, the family moved to Loveland, Colorado. Anne became an active and cherished member of her community. She was an active member of P.E.O. for 64 years and always participated in church activities. A lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, leading hundreds of young women and training new leaders. She was always one to offer a listening ear and warm smile to friends and neighbors, she touched countless lives with her gentle spirit and unwavering compassion.
Anne will be remembered for her grace, generosity, and sense of humor, as well as her ability to make every person she met feel valued and loved. Her greatest joy came from her family, whom she cherished above all else. She is survived by her daughters, Kathi (Steve) Heise and Sarah Kilbourn. Her grandchildren, Derrik Denison, Jake Denison, Brittany Denison and Frankie Erdman and great grandchild, Danica Storms. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Kathleen Alessandro and her husband, Frank Kilbourn.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18th at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3333 N. Duffield, Ave. Loveland, CO 80537. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to P.E.O. Chapter GC, or Trinity Lutheran Church.
Anne’s legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
