Mission Mortuary - Monterey
Lydia Litia Tuialuuluu
November 18th, 1938 - September 29th, 2025
Litia Lalau Tuialu'ulu'u passed away peacefully at her home in Spreckels, California on September 29, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born November 18, 1938, in Vaitogi, American Samoa.
Litia was a faithful servant of God and served Him faithfully to her last day. She loved singing songs especially from Penina O Tiafau or any church hymns. A devoted wife, dedicated mother and loving grandmother/great-grandmother, she cherished her time with family and friends, especially with her children. Between her duties of being the family matriarch, Litia made time to enjoy a session or two of bingo, when possible. Card games were her specialty, and her family knew to watch her carefully, as certain cards occasionally disappeared and reappeared magically in her hand.
Litia spent a majority of her professional career working as a government employee for the commissary in Fort Ord (Presidio of Monterey) and Fort Irwin, California, where she eventually retired. With a sei (flower) in her hair and a beautiful smile, she would greet customers with a warm and genuine hello. She had a unique sense of humor that either made customers laugh, or left them feeling confused, but her intent was always good. Litia was well known, adored and loved by not only her customers, but her fellow co-workers as well.
She is survived by her husband, Reverend Elika F. Tuialu'ulu'u (Ret) and her children Elika Tuialu'ulu'u, Mona Lualemana, Rebecca Tuialu'ulu'u, Elizabeth Tuialu'ulu'u, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her eldest son Ricky Tuialu'ulu'u (August 25, 2025) and followed in death by her second eldest son Tony Ma'ae. (October 14, 2025).
A Visitation will be held October 26, 2025, from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Mission Mortuary Chapel 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey CA 93940. Funeral Service will be held October 27, 2025, 10:00am at the Mission Mortuary Chapel 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey CA 93940. A Graveside service to follow at Cementerio El Encinal 798 Fremont Street, Monterey, CA 93940.

Mission Mortuary - Monterey
Being centrally located on the Monterey Peninsula and adjacent to the San Carlos and Monterey City Cemeteries, Mission Mortuary has been the premier funeral home choice for Monterey and the entire Monterey Bay Peninsula for many years. Mission Mortuary opened its doors in 1946 at a location on Munras Avenue in Monterey and moved to our current location on Camino El Estero in 1952.
