It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary L. (West) Lafleur, passed away on October 23, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center. Born on December 14, 1935, in Holyoke, MA, Mary was a cherished daughter to the late John J. and Ruth L. (Guerrin) West. Mary moved to South Hadley in 1967, where she and her husband Mederic built a life filled with love and laughter. She was a devoted mother to her children, Michelle Beaudreau, Michael Lafleur and his wife Rebecca both of South Hadley, and John Lafleur and his wife Cheryl of Pittsfield, a loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Jeff and his wife Trisha, Jennifer and her husband Mike, Seth, Jacques, Mathieu and Nico, she leaves behind ten great-grandchildren: Amber, Josh, Andrew, Mackenzie, Jack, Michael, Owen, Esme, Axel, and Greyson, who will forever hold her in their hearts. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mederic E. Lafleur, Jr. Mary was known for her quick wit, contagious laugh, her unconditional love and selflessness. Her genuine warmth and love for cooking created countless memorable family gatherings, where everyone felt welcomed and cherished. Additionally, her passion for bird watching and her love for her cats, especially, Abe. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Thursday, October 30th, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, followed by closing remembrances at 6:30 PM at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at the Mass. Veterans' Memorial Cemetery.
