Patsy Oudin VerMett, 90, of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Patsy was born on July 2, 1935, in Sundance, Wyoming, to Fred Oudin and Frieda Cummings Brimmer. She grew up in Sundance, where she graduated from high school. In her younger years, Patsy worked alongside her mother and sister, Betty, in the family-owned Elkhorn Café in Sundance.
A devoted mother of five, Patsy lovingly raised her children while traveling across the United States and Japan, living on many Air Force bases throughout their family’s military life. She later settled in Boise in 1981, where she worked for Hewlett-Packard for more than 20 years before retiring.
Patsy had a deep love for the outdoors, crafting, and gardening, but her greatest joy came from helping others. Her infectious, bubbly personality and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Patsy is survived by her sons: Bill (Pam) Newman and Michael Devine; daughters: Christina Gillette and Mindy (Ray) Plum; and her grandchildren: Brandi (Chris Wilder) Newman, Becki (Jon) Umland, Sam Gillette, TJ Gillette, Ashley Devine, Megan Devine, Kevin Wheat, Kelsey (Ryan) Carlson, Sydney (Colby) Kennedy, and Cassidey Plum.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Oudin and Frieda Brimmer; sister, Betty Stephens; brother, Bob (“Whitey”) Oudin; son, Lonnie Newman; and grandson, Adam Gillette.
A celebration of Patsy’s life will be held on November 15th, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Bridge Tower Clubhouse, 2425 W Pride Crossing Dr, Meridian, ID 83646 All who knew and loved her are warmly welcomed to attend.
She will be laid to rest in Sundance Wyoming in the Mount Moriah Cemetery. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, laughter, and the joy she brought to every life she touched.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
