Brimfield-Susan (Sandy) Curtis, 88, passed away at her home on October 21, 2025.  Born September 23, 1937 in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of Alan and Evelyn (Martin) Sandy.  As a teenage equestrian she did provoke her parents ire on one occasion when she rode her horse through the front door and into the family house.  Susan grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Colby College in Maine with a degree in drama.  While at Colby, she met her future husband, John.  After their marriage on March 29, 1961, Susan and John settled in Sturbridge, where they lived for a number of years.  In 1966, they relocated to Brimfield.  As a home health aide, Susan worked under the direction of Harrington Hospital for a number of years.  She shared her husband's love of antiques and old houses.  In her leisure, Susan enjoyed keeping her mind sharp while doing crossword puzzles and reading.  Susan's musical taste included appreciation for Johnny Cash and the Rolling Stones.  April 3, 2024, Susan was predeceased by her husband, John.  Her love will forever remain with her two sons, John and partner Susan of Hadley, and Ben Curtis of Brimfield; grandsons, Ben and Joe Lawton-Curtis and their mother Heather Lawton.  Besides her parents, Susan was predeceased by her two brothers, Alan and Stephen.  A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Brimfield Congregational Church from 10:00am-11:00am with a funeral service to begin at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Brimfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's memory can be made to the Salvation Army.
