Alfredo Valdez Sr., 72, of Wilder, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on October 25, 2025. Alfredo was born in San Juan Nuevo Leon, Mexico on January 11,1953 to Gustavo Valdez and Manuela Chavez.

 

Alfredo was a long-haul truck driver for 40 plus years. Most recently working for Lippert. Alfredo loved the slot machines, playing cards, fishing and attending his grandchildren’s activities. He was best known for his humor. He was a master of any craft. We can’t wait to see the skies he paints for us in the future.

 

Alfredo was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters and his first wife.

 

Alfredo is survived by his children, Alfredo Jr. (Irene) Valdez, Gustavo (Michelle) Valdez, Valeria Valdez (Cody+) Wood ,Gabrielle “Goose”( Aaron) Stropkai , Candice Barrow (Charlie the dog).  His beloved grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart. Desiree, Greg, Mia, Simon, Myleah, Eli, Jesse, Joseph, Hollee, Hayden, Maddox, Jaime, Laz, Annalee, Cruz, Xavier.  He had two great-grandsons, Jeremiah and Matthias, one great granddaughter Keihlanni, and another great-granddaughter, Nayeli Mae (soon making her arrival). He is also survived by two siblings, Inez Velasquez and Maria Elena Garibay. And numerous nieces and nephews and “grandchildren” he adopted along the way.

 

Per Alfredo’s wishes, there will be no viewing or service. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
