KERR, Larry Robert

Larry Kerr, 77, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving friends and family on October 28, 2025, in Meridian, Idaho.

Larry was born on January 25, 1948, in Bowling Green, Ohio. He spent his childhood growing up in several states, including: Ohio, Illinois, Utah, and Idaho. In 1966, he graduated from Twin Falls High School, and shortly after, went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Idaho.

While in college, Larry traveled the United States building tanks for GATX during the summers to pay for school. After graduation, he moved to Arizona for a short time to find work but eventually moved back to where he loved- Idaho. He then started a successful custom home construction business, building over a thousand homes over the length of his career. Larry took great pride in building high quality, “above average” homes and commercial buildings throughout the treasure valley and Idaho.

Larry had many passions in life, including his great love of the outdoors and gourmet cooking.  He was an avid bird and big game hunter, as well as a fisherman. You could often hear him using phrases like “get some!” or “it’s time to find ’em and fetch em up, like a good pup,” when hunting with his dogs.  More than anything, Larry enjoyed his time with his family, children, friends, and pets.

Larry was a one of kind, unique man, known for his sharp wit, charming personality, and extraordinary sense of humor that could light up a room in the most remarkable way. He was known to “speak in his own language,” creating nicknames for all and using words that left others intrigued and laughing.

Larry is survived by his sister, Jamie Kerr Scott (Rex Scott); and three sons: Alex (Haley Kerr); Brian (Dinae Kerr); and Travis Kerr; as well as his seven grandchildren: Chase, Melanie, Rowan, Jaxon, Crewe, Beckham, Freddie; and his cat “Mitt-Mittones”.

Rest in peace, Pops, your memory will last forever in our hearts.

We Entrusted Larry Kerr's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
