Shirley Jean Nye

Shirley Jean Nye, 88, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025. She was born on December 16, 1936, and lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family.   Shirley married Jack Edwin Nye, and together they raised their four sons. She was preceded in death by Jack; her three brothers; her son Robert Nye; her daughter-in-law Carla Nye; her granddaughter Jennifer Nye, and her great granddaughter Bailey Grace Holly.   She is survived by her sons Norm Nye, Mark Nye, and Carl Nye, along with a loving family of 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, with one more expected soon. Shirley was immensely proud of her growing family, and she treasured the joy and connection each new generation brought into her life.   Those who knew Shirley will remember her as a steady, comforting, and generous presence — someone who listened deeply, cared wholeheartedly, and always put family first. Her warmth and gentle strength touched every person fortunate enough to know her.   A funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 700 North Bonanza Avenue on Wednesday November 19, 2025 at 10:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior, the burial will follow at Binghampton Cemetery 4001 Alvernon Way. Arrangements handled by Bring's Broadway Chapel. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories of Shirley’s life.
