Clifford R Barber
March 23rd, 1938 - November 14th, 2025
Palmer-Clifford R. Barber, 87, passed away at home with the love of his family surrounding him on November 14, 2025. He was born in Warren, MA on March 23, 1938, son to Arthur and Della (Parron) Barber. Cliff grew up in Warren and moved to Palmer in 1965. He proudly served his country in the US Army during Korea and Vietnam and was stationed in Alaska as an expert in demolition. Well known in the community of Palmer, Cliff owned and operated Palmer Taxi for many years. He was also involved in the DARE program along with being a first responder for Palmer Ambulance. As a member of the American Legion Post 130 in Palmer along with being a lifetime member of AMVETS, he was previously a Sargent of Arms, and past Commander. Cliff's memory will forever remain with his wife of 19 years, Susan (Beatty), along with his children, Jennifer Prevost of Palmer, William Cooper of Athens, TN and Jessica Light of Palmer. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Alan, Alissa, Anthony, Haley, Elena, Lakota and Junior as well as four great grandchildren, Alan, Toby, Ivy and Amber. His brother, Francis of Carolina as well as he beloved dogs, Rocky and Bandit, and grandpuppy Laci, will also dearly miss him. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by Jennifer's mother, Dorothy Minney in 2007, four sisters and two brothers. A visitation will be Monday, December 1 from 12:30 pm-1:30 pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home with a service to begin at 1:30 pm. Committal and military honors will take place at 3 pm .
