Memorial

Willa Maxine Hintergardt, 78, of Carr, Colorado, entered into the presence of the Lord and joyfully reunited with her husband, Bill, on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Born May 12, 1947, in Greeley, Colorado, to Willis and Opal (Young) Chadwick, Willa spent her entire life in the community she loved—Carr. She attended school in Carr until its closing and then continued her education at Highland High School in Ault, graduating in 1965.

On June 18, 1966, Willa married the love of her life, Bill Hintergardt, in Fort Collins. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. They shared a deep love for ranching and spent many joyful years raising cattle side by side and was an important part of their life.

Willa was a cornerstone of her hometown, faithfully serving as the Postmaster in Carr for 26 years. Her warm smile, kindness, and dedication made her a treasured presence to all who passed through the post office doors.

Willa shared her creativity through the beautiful, stamped cards she lovingly made for friends and family. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, Devin and Addie, who brought immense joy to her life. Yet her deepest devotion was to her faith. She was a committed follower of Christ and an active member of the Carr Community Church, where she played the piano, taught Sunday School, and helped organize the children’s Christmas program for many years. She and Bill later opened their home to host a small, loving church fellowship. Willa also led a weekly Bible study and was a passionate and dedicated member of the Carr Community Club.

Willa is survived by her daughter, Dee Boskovich and husband Scott of Carr, CO; her grandchildren, Devin Boskovich and wife Taylor Boskovich of Three Rivers, TX and Addie Boskovich of Carr, CO; and a wide circle of friends who will miss her warmth and unwavering kindness.  She was proceeded in death by her parents and husband Bill.

Willa’s life was a testament to simple joys, strong relationships, and giving back to her community.  She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.

A life celebration will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2025, at Adamson Life Celebration Home and interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Preston Ranch in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 W. 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
