Leona Baca Gallegos (August 20, 1942 – November 16, 2025)
Leona Baca Gallegos passed away November 16, 2025, at the age of eighty-three. Leona was born to Joseph Ignaticio Baca and Juanita Lucero Baca in Mt. Hayden, CO. She grew up with five siblings in a small mining town north of Steamboat Springs, CO and moved to Denver with her family.
Leona married Rudy Gallegos and they settled in the Denver area to raise their family. Leona had four children, Troy Gallegos (deceased), David Gallegos, Charles Gallegos and Gina Gallegos. While raising a young family, Leona achieved her nursing degree and began a lengthy career as an RN.
Leona is pre-deceased by both her parents, her brothers Rudy Baca and Arthur Baca and her sisters Patricia Honeysett and Susan Hernandez and son Troy Gallegos. She is survived by her brother Robert Baca, her children David, Charles and Gina; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are planned for 10:00am on December 6, 2025 at Romero Funeral Home, 4750 Tejon Street, Denver CO 8021.
