Robert Charles Bowers (Bob) of Greeley, Colorado passed quietly into the arms of Jesus on November 17, 2025.
He was born in Denver, Colorado on April 15, 1942, to Charles Joseph & Minnie Gottschalck Bowers. He had one younger brother, Norman. He married Suzanna Crane in 1967 & had one daughter, April. After losing Suzanne, he married Ruth Elaine Lee in 1978 and inherited 2 more daughters, Martha & Laura.
He grew up in Eastlake, Colorado and graduated from Merritt Hutton High School in Thornton, He farmed with neighbors two years before joining the US Navy in 1962 as an Aviation Machinist and Jet Engine Mechanic and served for four years on the USS Oriskany battleship. He then worked at Sundstrand Machine until opening his own Machine Shop EDM, with two other partners in Denver. He retired and moved to Galeton, Colorado and volunteered for the Galeton Fire Department serving as Chief, First Responder and EMT for 20 years. He loved helping local farmers including his son in law Paul. He and Paul then invented, patented and sold the agriculture weed burner, the Hydroflame. He and Paul then opened B&B Mowes & Small Engine Repair outside of Eaton. He got his pilot’s license in 1988 fulfilling a lifelong dream. He loved to square dance, play his banjo, fly his plane and was an avid gardener.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Minnie, an Uncle Vic, his first wife Suzanne, second wife Elaine, brother Norman, daughter Laura and one grandson Casey.
He is survived by daughter Martha (Paul), daughter April, three grandsons: Rorey, Bond & Wesley, one granddaughter Sarah and five great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on December 09, 2025, at Northern Colorado Crematory from 11:00 AM – Noon and afterwords a reception will be held at the Galeton Fire Department from Noon – 2:00 PM following the service.
