Gwendolyn Mary Dayley Snoderly joined her forever companion Monday November 24, 2025. She passed peacefully in her sleep at Creekside Long-term Care in Meridian, Idaho.

She was born in her grandma’s bedroom in Burley, Idaho on May 15, 1945 to Cecil and Lois Dayley. She was a few months old before her dad came home from the war and saw her for the first time.

She grew up in the home her dad built with a lot of time with family and extended family. She went to church with her Grandma Young and gained her testimony of her Savior. She had a great love for her cousins from family reunion trips and tried to maintain those relationships throughout her life as she was able.

Gwen enjoyed participating in Steperettes and in the King and I production at Burley High School. She loved being a Burley Bobcat and graduated in 1963.

She married Steve Hymas on January 12, 1969 in  Elko, Nevada. Misti was born October 25, 1969 and was the greatest blessing for Gwen. She was very sick and almost died in spring of 1971. She had major surgery on April Fools’ day and always joked that she fooled everybody by surviving and having many years of life to enjoy thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff who cared for her.

It was from that experience that Gwen decided to go to nursing school after her marriage ended. Her and Misti persevered through it and were blessed with the great miracle and blessing of meeting and marrying Henry Ross Snoderly. They met at a progressive dinner organized by the Single Adult Ward and after a brief courtship were married April 15, 1977 that was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls temple August 27, 1977.

She graduated from nursing school as a Licensed Practical Nurse a few months later and enjoyed caring for her patients for almost thirty years. Gwen was known for being generous to a fault. She was at her best when she was able to take care of others.

After many years of fasting and prayer, Gwen’s and Hank’s faith was blessed with two little girls, Megan and Jennifer. Gwen coached the dance team at Middleton High School and enjoyed kicking her knees up with the Vikettes drill team.

Gwen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed serving as a Sunday School teacher and Primary President among other callings for many years. Her testimony stayed firm in the gospel and forever families. She had some adventures after Hank passed away in 2008 keeping up with grandchildren’s births, graduations, and other milestones.

Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Hank; her parents and her brothers and sister. She is survived by her daughters: Misti (Vince) Alcalde of Meridian, Idaho; Megan (Chris) Jackson of Plain City, Utah; Jennifer (Steven) Roth of Caldwell, Idaho; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will take place in the spring with details to be announced.

Give Daddy lot of hugs and eat all the fresh tomatoes heaven can offer Mom.

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
