Michelle “Shelly” Griego, beloved wife, mother, Gammy, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on November 18th, 2025, at the age of 63.
She was born on December 16th, 1961, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Connie Medina and Robert Lopez. Shelly was the loving wife of Robert Griego for 45 years and a devoted mother to Roby (Amanda), Scott (Kristina), and Shayne (Kyla) Griego. In addition to being the best Gammy, she was joyfully blessed with ten grandchildren: Isiah, Isabel, Marcus, Mason, Maddy, Marshall, Cara, Kasima, Alden, and Samira Griego.
Shelly is survived by her brothers Ken, Tim, and Dan Lopez; her sisters Missy (Robert Medina), Roni Lopez, and Tiffany Arellano, mother in law Frances Griego and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shelly was a woman with a kind spirit and a genuine way of creating meaningful connections. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, nothing brought her more joy happiness than their smiles and laughter. She had a beautiful way of turning everyday moments into cherished memories.
She enjoyed trips to Black Hawk, camping, shopping, and family gatherings. It was not unusual to see her dancing and singing around the house, filling every space with joy. She loved talking and laughing with neighbors and was the type of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone she met. Shelly was always willing to help those who needed her. Her beautiful presence and loving heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed, until we meet again.
Shelly is preceded in death by her parents Connie and Dave Medina, Robert Lopez; father-in-law Don Griego; brother-in-law Tom Griego; sister-in-law Vicky Lopez, Aunt Lolly Ruybal and special cousin Beverly Trujillo.
Memorial service will be Friday December 5, 2025 at 11:00am at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Parish with a Rosary Starting at 10:00am. A luncheon will follow the services at the Church.
